Investigates and resolves written complaints brought by parents, advocates, and others of a violation of IDEA or Chapter 60 relating to the identification, evaluation, placement or provision of a free appropriate public education to a student with a disability. Answers questions related to complaints over the phone. Handles requests for special education mediation. Facilitates communications and promotes dispute resolution.
