Autism 101 Workshop In person & Virtual
Mango Tree Center, in collaboration with Project LAUNCH, Children With Special Health Needs Branch, Hawaiʻi Department of Health, is excited to offer Understanding Autism & Early Development, a free four-part workshop series for families, educators, healthcare professionals, and community providers.
These interactive workshops will bring together autism specialists, current research, practical information, community resources, and plenty of time for participant questions. Workshops are available in person in Honolulu and via streaming, at no cost to attend.
First Workshop: Autism 101
Friday, October 2, 2026 | 9:00–11:00 AM | Honolulu + Streaming
Join Maya Matheis, PhD, licensed clinical psychologist, for an accessible, research-informed introduction to autism. We’ll explore:
- What current research tells us about autism
- Early signs and developmental differences
- Common myths and conflicting information
Participants will receive a companion workbook and community resources, with plenty of time built in for Q&A.
No prior knowledge of autism is needed. Parents, caregivers, professionals, and community partners are all welcome!

Join Bethann Paul, BCBA, LBA, for a practical workshop focused on understanding behavior through a developmental lens. We’ll explore emotional regulation and sensory differences, along with evidence-informed strategies for supporting behavior, regulation, and connection.
