Social Skills workshop

December 13, 2019 @ 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM

We would like to invite y’all next installment of our workshop series, on Social Skills will be taking place on Friday, December 13, 2019 from 5:30 to 8:00 PM at the O’ahu Veteran’s Center’s Cruickshank Hall located at 1298 Kukila Street, Honolulu, HI. 96818. I have attached a flyer for the workshop below. We had a great turnout from students last time, and for this workshop especially, we highly encourage students to attend.
This workshop will be conducted by Dr. Rhonda Black, a professor in the Department of Special Education, here at UH-Mānoa. Dr. Black’s research interests span friendship, social skills, and relationships for students and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and she has published and presented on these topics extensively. She has also helped put together a curriculum for teachers on these subjects. Chuan, Chin, and I had the privilege of seeing a version of this presentation at a Transition Teachers meeting in September and we thought it would be beneficial for you, your families, and students.
