DESCRIPTION:To register for this FREE event\, click here\nYou are invited to attend the Kauai Footsteps to Transition fair on October 1st!  Join us as we “STEP” into transitions\, an educational afternoon filled with min-talks and resource tables to help students and their parents/guardians navigate their transition journey towards life and independence after high school. Students and self-advocates can work on advocacy during Q&A with Kauai County Council members and Legislators.\nTransition planning begins early!  This event is open to high school\, middle school and elementary students\, families\, teachers\, DOE staff and community partners and providers.\nDATE: Wednesday October 1\, 2025\nTIME: 2:00 – 5:00 pm\nWHERE: Kauai Convention Hall – 4191 Hardy St\, Lihue\, HI 96766\n\n\nResource Tables from local and state agencies\n\n\nMini Talk Sessions include topics on\n\n\nHousing\n\n\nEmployment\n\n\nHealth Transitions\n\n\nIEP Transitions\n\n\nAlternatives to Guardianship\n\n\n\n\nLegislator Q&A\n\n\nAwesome Door prizes and a FREE Bento Dinner!  If you pre-register\, you will receive 2 door prize tickets!\nFrom 5:00 – 6:00 pm\, a Q&A session will be held with our Kauai County Council Members.\nFor more information on transition from high school to adult life\, visit the Hawaii Footsteps to Transition Fair website: https://footstepstotransition.weebly.com/  to learn about health transitions\, age of majority when your child turns 18\, college and career opportunities and more!
