DESCRIPTION:To register\, click here \nFor a Zoom link\, click here \nFor the Reimbursement form\, click here \nTraining for Unrepresented Parents (Pro Se) under IDEA \nThe Hawaiʻi State Department of Education (Department)\, Monitoring and Compliance Branch is hosting a\none-day training for Unrepresented Parents (Pro Se) under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act\n(IDEA). A virtual option via Zoom is available\, click here. \nThe training will be facilitated by Special Education Solutions\, LLC\, the nation’s leading expert in IDEA\ncompliance\, training\, and dispute resolution. The training will provide an overview of special education law\,\nthe hearing process\, and pro se parents. The training is only open to parents\, non-attorney advocates\, and\nparent training information centers. \n• Date: Wednesday\, April 10\, 2024\n• Time: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.\n• Location: Ala Moana Hotel by Mantra\, 410 Atkinson Dr.\, Honolulu\, HI 96814\, Hibiscus Ballroom II\,\n2nd Floor\n• Breakfast: Continental breakfast will be provided\n• Lunch: On your own \nRegistration for Training\nRegister here\nRegistration will close on Thursday\, March 28\, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. \nInter-Island Participants (Airfare and Ground Transportation Reimbursement)\nThe Monitoring and Compliance Branch will reimburse you up to $300 for the following:\n• Airfare\n• Ground Transportation\nYou must attend the whole training day from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. to be eligible for reimbursement. \nReimbursement Request\nTo request reimbursement from the Monitoring and Compliance Branch\, please complete the Supplier\nInformation section on the Reimbursement Form with a copy of your Driver’s License\, boarding passes\, and\ntransportation receipt(s) and submit it to Angela Wong at angela.wong@k12.hi.us and Mel Dela Rama\nat mel.dela_rama@k12.hi.us. The School/Office Information and Administrator’s Authorization sections have\nbeen completed by the Monitoring and Compliance Branch.
