Autism Journey Seminar – Medical
About: This seminar will be presented by experienced TACA Hawaii parents on Diets, Medical Interventions, Surviving & Planning, Staying Organized and a Q & A. Come be inspired and get help and support on your journey addressing the medical needs of your child with autism.
Please note that this meeting will also be a mandatory orientation to the HAF/TACA Medical Scholarship for which attendance is required for Oahu families who plan to apply. One family representative must attend the entire event in order to fulfill the attendance requirement. Information on applying for the scholarship, criteria, and FAQs about the scholarship will be shared at this event.

On-site childcare will be provided by Easter Seals Youth Services, some limitations may apply. Space is limited. Registration for childcare will start at 8:30 am for the Autism Learning Seminar and 1:15 pm for the Autism Journey Seminar. Parents will have to register for each event separately. If parents are attending both events, they will have to take them for the lunch hour. Child will not be allowed on the premises unless enrolled in the Easter Seals’ program.
TACA is not a licensed childcare provider and this service is not provided by TACA. TACA will be held free and harmless from and against any and all losses, threatened loss, penalties, damages, settlements, costs, charges, professional fees, or other expenses or liabilities of every kind and character arising out of or relating to any and all claims, liens, demands, obligations, actions, proceedings or causes of action of every kind and character in connection with attendees agreement with Easter Seals.
Easter Seals will offer on-site childcare services for the duration of the TACA meeting. Attendees that choose to take advantage of this service must contact Easter Seals directly to register for this service and/or obtain more information. Please note a fee will apply for these events. Participating families will need to complete an application form, photo release form and follow guidelines and policies for Easter Seals Youth Services.
For neighbor island families interested in applying for the HAF/TACA Medical Scholarship:
A webinar will be offered to fulfill the requirement of the mandatory scholarship introductory meeting. The webinar will meet the criteria for the scholarship for families that RESIDE on islands other than Oahu. If you are an Oahu family, you will be required to attend the AJS meeting on February 21, 2015. The webinar will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 5:00 pm (HST).
