Special Education Advisory Council

SEAC is a State Advisory Panel mandated by IDEA. They meet once a month during the school year to discuss the unmet needs of students with disabilities.

Most special education services in Hawaii are delivered within the Department of Education, but there are some exceptional programs in the private sector as well.

Accessing Legislative Information

The Hawaii State Capitol has a very user-friendly website that contains a huge amount of information, including information on legislators, committees, the legislative process and pending legislation.
